A member of the ginger family, turmeric is easily identified by its bright orange-yellow hue which it lends to dishes. This turmeric is a single origin spice grown organically on one farm in southern India. It is hand-harvested, cleaned, steamed, sun-dried and ground fresh, while being primarily irrigated by rainwater. The result is an intensely flavored turmeric with hints of ginger and jasmine and a sweeter undertone.
